“I have been teaching since I was small. I give a little of myself to each of my students and receive a piece of each of them in return. My body, heart and mind are nurtured by you. In the CIEDI community we are a collective and when we work as a team there is nothing we cannot achieve.
With a deep love for education and visionary thinking, in 1977 Clara Gutiérrez de Palacios initiated an educational project based on the recognition of each human being as unique and unrepeatable. Thus, was born CIEDI Colegio Internacional de Educación Integral.
Clara’s purpose from the beginning was to educate individuals, she studied psycho-pedagogy at the University of Madrid, Spain, and specialized in individualized education at the University of Alabama, USA.
Clarita, as she is affectionately known, has been a teacher for more than 50 years and has been at the forefront of the evolution of our beloved CIEDI for 43 of them. In 2019 she received the “Simón Bolívar” Silver Cross decoration, in recognition of her service to education.
