CIEDI seeks the best programs and strategies to enhance the wellbeing of their students

An open perspective towards acknowledging wellbeing and mental health without stigma, where to talk about feelings, thoughts and experiences would be a normal practice in our school, is proof or out value proposition related with the individualized monitoring and with one of our strategic objectives that aims to generate a comprehensive wellbeing culture within our community.

What is individualized monitoring at CIEDI?

Individualized monitoring is a set of actions and strategies that start off from acknowledging each one of our students as a unique and unrepeatable being, and addresses their cognitive, physical and emotional dimensions comprehensively. Seeks to obtain a wide knowledge of the student, their strengths, likes, needs, learning pace, execution times and processes, to generate the best care strategies to their needs and enhance their skills.

‘BIPRODEHU’ supports the academic area participating in individualized and periodic meetings with students, their parents, the program coordinator and the classroom director, and academic meetings of each one of the levels with teachers.

Individualized care

We establish individual encounters that favor academic, behavioral, and socio-emotional processes of the students…according to their particular needs and in favor of their holistic development.

Involvement hours

They are spaces within school schedule that are established once every cycle, from Pre-kinder to 11th grade, and that have the purpose of promoting socio-emotional development in students to favor coexistence and the development of a healthy and harmonic environment.

Conversation period oriented to boost a positive classroom environment. Through a guide established by the classroom director, issues and situations students are facing are evaluated.

During this encounters, teachers encourage students to address a situation and to find alternatives for their solution, putting socio-emotional abilities into practice.

Program for the development of socio-emotional skills of the World Bank. This program has been renowned globally as one of the most effective strategies to promote tools for life within the school context.

BIPRODEHU Curriculum

Has the goal of strengthening the development of socio-emotional abilities from pre-kinder to 11th and takes the three dimensions in mind: Intra-personal (learn to be), Emotional (learn to feel) and Inter-personal (learn to live together). The activities are made by the section’s psychologist with the classroom directors’ support.

Coexisting outings and camps

  • Coexisting outings are made with all grades and camps are carried out in Transition grade, fifth grade, ninth grade and eleventh grade, which correspond to the finishing grades of each program.
  • These activities are developed in CIEDI’s own countryside places, in the towns of Cota and Tenjo.

Consentidos

CIEDI count with the support of the Preventive program of the collective foundation ‘Aqui y Ahora’ named ‘Consentidos’ (With-senses) that has the general goal of increasing the risk perception in students facing alcohol, cigarette, and other drugs consumption, as well as increasing parent involvement and strengthen family protective factors from education based in freedom, responsibility and sense of life. This program is established with students and families since 5th grade to 9th grade.

Sexual education and affectivity program arises as a solid response to the needs and inquiries of boys, girls,  and teenagers according to the socio-emotional developmental phase they are in. ‘BIPRODEHU’ as the providing department of this process, guides work, promotes personal and group reflection with a frank, honest and affective attitude through a pedagogic and educational focus.

The program has as a goal, providing clear, true information in a timely manner which will help students grow as integral human beings, with their transcendence and sexuality; enhancing self-knowledge and the expression of feelings and emotions; analyze the ability to make decisions in the affective life and adopt a coherent ethical behavior; grow y the capacity to build a community starting from human relationships; and reaching a real knowledge of affective and sexual life.
