This is how children learn during their middle years.

Interdisciplinary education helps students to connect ideas, strengthen concepts and solve problems as they deepen their knowledge.

Middle School

CIEDIs Middle School consists of grades 6 through 9 with students from 12 to 16 years old. The Middle School offers the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program, which has the fundamental objective of preparing students to take an active role in their learning, be autonomous, creative, and global minded. This philosophy allows them to take on the challenges of a multicultural world that is in constant change.

In this section, students learn how to learn, think critically and apply their knowledge in a meaningful way. We encourage autonomy, creativity, reflection on student progress and development. Students develop responsibility through collaborative learning experiences with partners and in small groups.

The plan of study in the MYP offers a holistic approach to learning, granting opportunities that allow students to establish connections between all of the areas and disciplines that they are studying. The program guarantees that they acquire knowledge and skills necessary to respond to challenges in the next phase of their academic career. Bilingualism in Spanish and English is consolidated and the development of competency in communication in French is encouraged.
